The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it. – John 1:5

My hope and prayer is to shine the light and love of God’s Word to our dark and divided world.

Children are precious

I think we can all agree that children are precious. Is there anything sweeter than holding a new born baby? When that tiny baby grabs a hold of your finger, it simultaneously grabs a hold of your heart. As time goes on and that baby grows up, needing less and less of our help, we tend to lose sight of that precious gift. Living in a culture that is driven by selfishness and convenience, we have less conversation and less interaction. We can be driven by our careers and let’s be honest, driven by impressing others. We have all been guilty of this at some point in our lives. We say that children are important to us. Yet our actions always speak louder than our words. Maybe it’s time that we as parents and even as a community stop to re-evaluate just how important our children and future are. Just because we question one doesn’t mean we question all. Re-evaluation is a good thing and is necessary for healthy and lasting growth in moving forward. My kids have been so blessed with amazing teachers and administrators here. I’m so thankful for the love and kindness they have shown my children. As the community continues to grow, let us all evaluate our priorities. We can have a beautiful growing city but if our children are not being loved and nurtured in healthy ways, even in our own homes, it will be empty and lifeless. May the Lord open up the eyes of our hearts to see the beautiful gifts of life that He has entrusted us with.
